259 Agency is a real estate investment company that specializes in helping individuals and developers buy and sell Costa Rican luxury real estate in a sustainable way for local communities and the environment. We understand that real estate transactions can be complex, and we strive to simplify the process for our clients. We provide a variety of services, including market research, investment resources, and local insight, to ensure that our clients are able to make informed decisions about their investments. We strongly believe in the power of giving back to the communities in which we operate. We donate 10% of our all our profit to local a charity organization of our clients’ choice. Furthermore, we prioritize local hiring and work to ensure that our development activities foster local economic growth.

Founder
Owen Atkey "Juan Canadiense"
Owen was one of the first foreigners to find Santa Teresa in the early 70’s. After falling in love with Costa Rica, and more specifically Santa Teresa, he decided to move here full time in the early 90’s with his wife and kids. As the town began to grow, Owen realized that he was in a unique position to broker real estate deals between the foreigners who wanted to follow his footsteps and the locals who he had come to view as family.

Austin Atkey "Chito"
Austin was raised in the Santa Teresa area and has seen the place change from a sleepy town full of wonder to a rapidly developing touristic hub that seems to entrance every person that visits it. Having seen Owen work in real estate his whole life, he naturally gained an interest in the trade and the unique ability it gives community members to help shape the places they live in and ensure that they don’t lose that bit of wonder they remember from childhood.

Kelli Froland
Kelli comes from a business background operating in one of the most powerful industrys in the US. The US healthcare system. Kelli worked alongside executive clientele to help them evaluate their operational gaps and implement business strategies and technology to create higher profit margins.
Kelli now on our board of directors focuses on helping us ensure our investors of Costa Rica do the same, make smart business decisions using analytics and local expertise to create the highest return on investment possible for our clients.
